The Harvest Festival?

'A time to give thanks to the Lord!

Harvest time is traditional in the western Churches, because it gave a time to be thankful for the provision of God on the land even when it was not so good it was better than nothing?

But we may not fit in culturally to this set up, but still we can give thanks to God for His salvation and the great changes He has made for us in our New Lives!

There is always something to thank Jesus for in this New Life, daily miracles, children, blessings, deliverance, healing and the list could be endless?

Deuteronomy 8:10,   Psalm 44:8,   Jeremiah 33:11,   Mark 6:41,   Luke 2:28,   Romans 14:6, Colossians 4:2,   1 Timothy 4:4.

Aspects of Christmas! One.

Loneliness?

This is perhaps the greatest downside of the Christmas holidays, loneliness! The festival only lasts a few days, but regret may lead to self-harm or suicide?

We may start well in life, doing our own thing but age brings its own problems? Friends and family pass-away and we may find ourselves alone not wanting to face truths and pains from mistakes in the past?

Christmas is full of fun, decorations, music, lights and kids who can have really enjoy it!

Believers need to look out for those older folks, a hot drink, meal, card and chat helps, feeling wanted also helps it really can go a long way!

God so loved this world He made that is why He gave us Jesus His one and only Son, for whoever believes in Him will have Eternal Life?

Luke 2:7,  12,  16,  John 3:3,  15-18,  Romans 3:23,  5:16-18,  6:23,  1 Peter 4:10.

Fatty Issues. Two.

Food Attraction?

One is cheap food and the other is offers or meal deals that fool us into thinking we are getting more for less? The truth is less for more money over that of buying and cooking for ourselves!

Fat people are not poor people, there are as many rich and fat people too in most western societies and the same principle as mentioned above applies to them too!

What is the answer to help people loose weight, walking, having a dog, getting a job? That has been the traditional view for a long time, but it don't work, because it has to be our will to do it for ourselves!

No one can become a believer in the death and resurrection of Jesus, without seeking their need for Him, confessing and repenting and not returning to what we once were!

Proverbs 15:27,  Matthew 5:6,  Romans 8:26-27,  1 Thessalonians 2:8,  1 Peter 4:3.

Sinning. Part-Two.

Lead us not into Temptation.

Jesus said, 'That it was not what we eat makes us dirty, but what is conceived in the human heart!'

Satan/The Devil knows all about us, since it was He who deceived our mutual grandmother Eve in the Garden of Eden so long ago! He knows that sin binds us to wants, food, pleasure, lust, power, money, all the weaknesses of the human nature.

Jesus was no exception to being attacked by His arch enemy Satan, when He was tempted out in the desert! But Jesus leaves us this example and knowledge along with that bases of prayers to build upon, that we can stand up to His evil devices and his various agents who seek if we are believers to lead us astray?

Genesis 3:1-5, Matthew 4:1-18, 6:13, Mark 7:15-20, Luke 11:4, 2 Corinthians 11:14, James 5:7, 17.

Preparing for Christmas.

Care and Concern.

Christmas is perhaps the biggest holiday season in the world, it comes but once a year and lasts for about one month. This depends on which tradition you belong to, but most of this season today is more about things than the central message.

Jesus came into our world by two miracles, one He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus was not born in a palace as the wise men or Magi thought, searching for the New Born King. Jesus was born in a dirty stable and laid in an animal feeder.

There is a big difference between being a traditional Christian and a Born-Again or Converted believer. We may be preparing our food, drinks and presents, and everything else such as presents, decorations and the tree.

But Jesus warns us that we need always to be looking out for others, who are in need!

Matthew 25:35-46,  Hebrews 6:10-12,  13:2,  James 1:27,  2:14-16.

'Carnival.' Part-One.

Party Time.

We all like to have some party time in our lives, wither it is a birthday, some anniversary or just a time to share our culture.

Music, bands, songs, drinks, food and dancing they make up the best party's?

The bible tells us about parties and celebration feasts, for victory in battles, proclamations of great events.

There are tow kinds of people who like party's and we need to be aware of both of them!

2 Samuel 6:14,  Luke 15:12-14.
