The Love of God!

 Compassion?

We do not see much compassion with even the best of people at the worst of times and yet we are told in the New Testament of the Holy Bible that Jesus showed compassion to people!

The word is defined as having pity rather than showing love, Jesus had pity on the crowds who followed Him, because they were Spiritually dull and yet they wanted many things a leader to free them from the Roman occupation and a healer!

Today many people are searching for answers to the problems of life, but at the same time they do not want God? Because they have been told God is about rules and religion is rubbish and we can solve all our problems if we can find the answers ourselves?

Matthew/Levi 9:36,  14:14,  15:32,  20:34,  Mark 9:22,  Luke 10:33,  Romans 9:15,  Colossians 3:12, 1 John 3:17.

The Harvest Festival?

'A time to give thanks to the Lord!

Harvest time is traditional in the western Churches, because it gave a time to be thankful for the provision of God on the land even when it was not so good it was better than nothing?

But we may not fit in culturally to this set up, but still we can give thanks to God for His salvation and the great changes He has made for us in our New Lives!

There is always something to thank Jesus for in this New Life, daily miracles, children, blessings, deliverance, healing and the list could be endless?

Deuteronomy 8:10,   Psalm 44:8,   Jeremiah 33:11,   Mark 6:41,   Luke 2:28,   Romans 14:6, Colossians 4:2,   1 Timothy 4:4.

High Expectations!

Surprised by God?

We all like to have a bit of pomp, despite being New believers it is a natural aspect of our human nature and so it was with Naaman the Syrian general in seeking the Prophet Elisha for the healing of his leprosy?

But Elisha was not playing ball today and this upset Naaman to start fussing over which river was better than the Jordan!

But God was working through people once more, his servants rebuked him and told him to get on with it! This is the same with many of us, we are guided by God to do something and then all we end up doing is fussing over the small things!

2 Kings 5:11-14,    Luke 4:27,    Exodus 16:8,   Philippians 2:14.

False Believers. Two.

Signs that Trouble!

We can generally see the people who are amongst us because of their ways and attitudes that trouble us? Gambling, smoking, taking narcotics, adulteress, swearing, late for services, and out before they can be met at the door?

These are some of the many issues, others are gossipping, and not being able to keep confidentiality are the worst? Because they leave accusations and they hurt people in a real bad way, that could lead to worse such as mental health issues or that they loose their faith?

We have great responsibility as believers in the house of God, to share and help each other? The structures of organisation are there, because over the last two-thousand years they have been developed to give a guideline and hope to us to grow, pray, commune, witness and teach others!

Psalm 94:20,  Acts 2:42,  1 Corinthians 1:9,  Ephesians 5:11,  Philippians 1:5,  1 John 1:7.

Racism. Part-Two.

Changeable Man.

This is the problem with the term racism is that humans change their stance, one will say they are racist to me while they maintain their right to be racist to another. Genesis 4:9.

Jesus has never entrusted Himself to any human being, because from early on He knew these people who praised Him for the healing and miracles would be the same ones who would shout, 'Crucify Him' when that time came. John 2:25-26.

The sin in our hearts must first be addressed to God and in repentance, that is real allowing our minds and attitudes to be changed. John 3:15-21, Galatians 1:4.

Crib n Cross. Part-Two.

Born to Die.

The story of the baby Jesus, does not end after Christmas He grows up helping His earthly father Joseph the carpenter in Nazareth. We learn from the bible that He was a perfect child. John 6:42.

But Mary still had to clean up after Him, when a babe and toddler! He stayed behind in Jerusalem talking to the teachers of the Law. Luke 2:46.

But when rebuked He obeyed his parents.  Luke 2:51.

The story of Jesus life is about doing what mum and dad needed Him to do, until His time was ready for ministry of healing and then He had to go to the Cross/stake/tree for us.  Mark 14:21.
